| I can't believe how quickly this school year has passed. Tonight we had our dorm banquet and it was simply amazing. But it's sad...I remember that it was after this event last year that the school year just...slipped on out, basically. And I'm ready for summer, yet I'm in such...awe...that I've seriously almost finished my first two years of college. And let me tell you, these next three years wont be easy. But they're going to be awesome. Summer is going to be amazing....going to Mexico.
But I really want to enjoy the now, you know? I'm not ready for the tomorrow yet.

| Christ calls us to pick up our cross
and follow him. Chances are that if we do this full out, people aren't
always going to like us. If you were to follow as strongly in Christ's
footsteps as possible, what groups of people would probably like you
less? The "stickler-to-rules" Christian? The "anything goes" Christian? Perhaps ultra-liberal non-believers?
I
ask because I believe that today, Christians concern themselves too
much with both following Christ and loving others. Not that these are
bad things, but we tend to separate the two. On one hand, we follow
Christ in certain areas of our life, but when it comes to loving
others, we figure out our own ways to do this. What I mean to say is
that we have this thinking that "Over here I have a task to follow
Christ and over here I have a task to love others, rather than thinking
about it as one and the same such that "In life, my task is to follow
Christ, and when this is done, only then will I truly know how to love
others" ". I believe that when our thinking isn't this latter way,
and the two are separated, we can never truly love others, and loving
them becomes more about pleasing them and making everyone happy, when
in fact the most important thing is entirely devoting ourselves to
Christ. I'm not sure if you follow? If you don't, ignore this part, or
go ahead and answer the above question. You all should know that a lot
of these blogs are me getting thoughts out to myself so I better
understand what I'm thinking. If anything doesnt make perfect sense,
that's why.
